You Matter

I saw this floating around and it really struck me.
Do I treat everyone like they matter to Jesus?
I'll be the first to admit absolutely not.
If I did I would be a perfect person and wouldn't need a wonderful Savior to save my sins.
I am so grateful for His love and that no matter what happens He will never love me any less than with everything He has and its so much more than I can imagine.
I put so much into showing Christ to Andrew through my actions and I should because he is my husband.
I work to show Christ to my friends and family.
But what about those who don't know Christ.
I want to focus more on others seeing Christ through me.

A little Bedroom DIY

So I love our bedding, I love our curtains, I love our antique nightstands, I love how calming our rooms is. But when you have antique nightstands there comes a point when they need some updating.
That point for us my friends, came a few weeks ago.

So here my friends are the nightstands before. They are made of solid wood. They just don't make them like this anymore so I didn't want to get rid of them!!
They are my great grandmothers to, so they're pretty special.

After a few days or sanding, priming, and painting these little beauties are right back where they belong.. in our room with much update wardrobe :)

Now all I need are so lamps!

From Raleigh to.... Seattle?

No we aren't moving but goodness it feels like we already have!
I don't know what is up with this summer this year but it has been the rainiest one I have seen in a long time.
I mean we are in monsoon season here in Raleigh and this is how I feel everyday when I am in the car coming home

And lets talk about my favorite summer item I am missing out on...

It's really hard to enjoy it when it rains!
Here's to hoping this next week and a half will be bright and sunny so I can wear my denim before Labor Day comes and I have to wait till April :(

That Time I Met NSYNC

So if you haven't heard the news NSYNC is talking about coming together for the VMA's
Melt my 24 year old heart I am in love!!!!

Yes NSYNC I want you BACK!

So now I am gonna make all you other NSYNC-ER's super jealous and tell you about the time I met NSYNC.
Let's just say it was the highlight of my awkward middle school years!

My friend from middle school had a sister who was part of Lance Bass's Label so when NSYNC came to Charleston that year guess who got to go backstage and meet them-- this girl!
(Pardon the picture quality)
We got to go to a meet and greet before the concert.
Yes Chris does have some weird thing on his head.

Yup that awkward girl on the right wearing way to much Limited Too is me.
Why is middle school so cruel??

Next it was time for the concert!

When I was in Middle School I was so excited we were so close we got pictures of his armpit hair!
This was before zoom ladies so we cool!

So what about you?
Are you excited for some NSYNC reunion songs on the VMA's?

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread

Want to know my favorite treat growing up... Yum Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread!
Want to know what major ingredient is in there... gluten...booo

So what was I to do this week when there were 3 overly ripe bananas sitting on my counter?
The answer is make my own gluten free version and alas the deliciousness was born!

2 cups gluten free flour ( I prefer Bobs Mill)
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
3 ripe mashed bananas
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
lots of walnuts and chocolate chips
(cause this is what makes it extra amazing)

Heat oven to 350
Mix flour, baking soda and salt in one bowl and all other ingredients in a smaller bowl.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients
Bake in two load pans for about 50 minutes
Cool and enjoy the heaven of all breads :)

I love... Beech Mountain

If you have been following my blog for any amount of time you probably know my parents had a baby. It seemed like yesterday but yall that sweet baby Ava is 1 year old!! I can't freaking believe it!

My family came to town from all over and we headed to Beech Mountain to celebrate this sweet girls big day!!

Our House in Beech Mountain

Our first day of vacation was Ava's Birthday Party :)

The next day I woke up and enjoyed my coffee with this beautiful sunrise.

We spent our day traveling around downtown Boone and then headed home to relax in the hot tub :)

Finally no vacation would be complete without a trip to the nearest outlet mall!!

Eventually we had to leave our Beech Mountain getaway and I am so bummed. We have no service there unless we go into town and it was so nice to be unplugged for 3 days and just spend quality time with family!

Here goes nothing...

This summer has been a whirlwind!

I was worried at the end of the school year that my position was going to be eliminated and then I got the all clear that I had a job for the 2013-2014 school year. I was so happy. I loved my school so much!

Then 3 weeks into the new school year ( I teach at a year round school so we started in July) the lovely NC Legislation passed a oh so wonderful bill (NOT) and due to numbers my position was cut and in 10 days I was going to be without a job. I was devastated!

Luckily I had an amazing principal who got on the job website with me asked me what schools I was interested in and began making phone calls and landed me 3 interviews within an hour! Honestly she is amazing and didn't have to do any of it and the next day I had a new job at a new school.

It has been an emotional time and I start my new school tomorrow and I am nervous, excited and sad. It is an amazing school that is new and has so much technology. I have been praying for an accepting heart cause I know God's Plan is so Large for my life.

Here is a look at my last few days of school. My kids were so amazing and made it so hard to leave!
